Via Hoyden About Town comes this open letter from mehloukia (a blogger I was not familiar with up till now; if I get your name wrong I apologize). I know, all of like three people read my blog, but I will cosign practically ANY letter asking Feministing to shape up. They have a lot of influence on feminists online, particularly new feminists, and they are using that influence to marginalize disabled voices. Perhaps if we can get Feministing to ally itself with PWD, that will not only be a great accomplishment on its own, but maybe it will pave the way for a dialogue about Feministing’s racism, classism, transphobia, and sizeism as well.
Feminism that is not CENTERED on intersectionality is feminism for a privileged few.
